BE ALL YOU CAN BE
You’ll be amazed at what getting involved in physical activity can do for you – from improving your health to building your confidence to introducing you to new friends, the benefits of being active are numerous.
Sporting Equals ‘Be All You Can Be’ is all about being active, it’s easy to do the little things that can make yourself lead a healthy lifestyle. Isa GuhaSporting Equals Ambassador
Guidelines recommend that you do some physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day at least 5 days a week – varying the activity will keep it fun and fresh so try jogging one day and swimming the next. Minimising the amount of time you are sitting down is important. Try swapping bus rides and car journeys with walking and riding your bicycle whenever possible and replace a game of football on the computer with a game of football down the park.

BE ACTIVE
You don’t have to get involved in organised sport to be healthy. While her sister plays netball for a local team, Abigail prefers to go running with friends. Not only does it help her improve her health and stay in shape, it’s also a great way for her to socialize.

Why I do it – it’s a great way to have fun and be active.

BE HEALTHY
After his grandson started to learn to swim at school, Shahid decided that it would be good to find out about how he could start swimming again. With more and more people within his community suffering from health problems, he knows how important it is to be active and Shahid goes swimming twice a week.

It’s something that I can do together with my grandson.
