Due to the nature of this role, Badminton England requires a female Assistant Pathway coach to work alongside junior players both on and off the court and throughout tournaments. This includes overnight stay and travel with junior females. The Assistant Pathway Coach will be responsible for the delivery of coaching in training and at competition, management of player Programmes, within the England Junior Performance Programme (EJPP). Delivery of educational workshops. To work closely with players transitioning into the training environment at the National Badminton Centre (NBC) as directed by the National Pathway Coach. The role will also deliver 'on court' coaching to players within the England Performance Programme (EPP) as directed by the Head Coach. And to assist with the launch of a female coaching programme and supporting its players.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Responsible for the delivery of the England Talent and Transition plans for badminton to ensure connectivity and integration of the EJPP and EPP's.
o Plan, manage and deliver the overall structure of the EJPP Apprenticeship Group based at the NBC
o Responsible for leading the overall development for the Engage Group
o Responsible for the tracking of performance and improvements of players within the Pathway
o Provide direct coaching support at junior international tournaments
Effectively utilise the available Sports Science Sport Medicine support for those within the EJPP to maximise performance and ensure we meet our duty of care responsibilities to the players
Work closely with the National Pathway Coach to ensure resources and expertise are maximised to deliver badmintons strategic objectives
Responsible for communication of Pathway activities, structural changes, future and general information including being responsible for the delivery of parent education for the Pathway
Provide direct coaching support for the EPP as required by the Head Coach including coaching at senior international competition.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive internal and external relationships at all levels.
Proven track record of leading and managing a training environment for junior players at the highest level
Experience of delivering education workshops to young athletes and parents
Experience with developing and nurturing a positive, engaging performance culture
Ability to adapt communication methods to the various groups (e.g. players, parents and coaches)
A strong understanding of junior player development with an open mind and vision for player development and future potential
Skills and experience of using various communications methods to promote, advertise and engage those involved with the pathway and where appropriate the wider badminton community
