Active Life Club: Empowering Communities Through Sports and Leadership

This months sportscotland theme is Be Active Every Day. We are shining a light on our incredible members Active Lives Club and the work they do in Glasgow to increase access to sport sessions.

For over 25 years, Active Life Club (ALC) has been a cornerstone of community development in Glasgow, breaking down barriers and bringing people together through sports and leadership initiatives. With a focus on inclusion, ALC engages over 1000 participants each year, offering a range of activities designed to build confidence, promote physical and mental wellbeing, and inspire personal growth.

At ALC, we believe in the power of sport to unite diverse communities. Our programmes are tailored to meet the needs of young people and families from all backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on cultural inclusion and accessibility. Our Parents Forum provides a vital space for mothers to engage, share their insights, and help shape the future of ALC’s work.

Through our partnerships with Sports Governing Bodies, ALC connects participants to valuable opportunities, pathways, and resources. We also invite volunteers to play an active role in our programmes, making a real impact while supporting the next generation of leaders.

As we look to the future, ALC remains committed to fostering stronger, healthier communities by breaking down barriers and building lasting connections through sport.
