Together Fund

The Together Fund was a continuation of the Tackling Inequalities Fund that was set up in April 2020 as part of Sport England’s support package to help the sport and physical activity sector through the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

What was the Together Fund?

It saw another £20 million of National Lottery funding committed to help the groups that were being disproportionately affected by the pandemic and it was significantly impacting their ability to be physically active.

TIF’s £20m was invested in four key audiences and the money from the Together Fund was spent in the same way – these priority audiences were:

  • Lower socio-economic groups
  • Culturally diverse communities
  • Disabled people
  • People with long-term health conditions.
TIF enabled community groups to continue to exist and engage with their communities, supporting people to be engaged and active.

Sporting Equals has distributed over £700,000 worth of together funding to over 100 ethnically diverse grassroots organisations to provide sport and physical activity opportunities for local communities.
