Our purpose is to change young lives through the power of athletics. We provide children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and underserved communities with the opportunity to participate and achieve their personal best, breaking down social inequalities and improving their health and wellbeing.
To help us achieve our aims, we are seeking to recruit a new Trustee to join our esteemed Board. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds regardless of gender, gender identity, sexuality, ethnicity, disability, age, religion or belief, parenting, caring or marital status.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have senior-level experience in either:
- Income generation – engaging and influencing funders, developing fundraising strategies, and/or implementing creative fundraising campaigns. Someone who can use previous experiences, knowledge and connections in an advisory capacity; or
- Public relations and/or storytelling – Someone who can advise on how best to position the charity and can help us to build a credible, trusted, and recognised ‘sport for development’ charity brand.
Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that the charity achieves its core purpose, overseeing the management, administration and governance of the charity. They have a collective responsibility in ensuring that Personal Best Foundation has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as important, our Trustees support and challenge the executive team to enable Personal Best Foundation to grow and thrive, and through this, achieve our mission.
The Personal Best Foundation is an independent registered charity affiliated to and supported by England Athletics (the National Governing Body for Athletics in England), the Personal Best Foundation was incorporated in February 2022, entered into the Register of Charities by the Charity Commission in September 2022 and officially launched on 18 November 2022.
