We at Sporting Equals are deeply saddened by the passing of David Lawrence, a British cricketer and a powerful advocate for inclusion in sport. As the first Black, British born cricketer to represent England at the highest level, David broke barriers and inspired generations with his strength, resilience, and unyielding passion for the game.
Beyond the cricket field, he was a proud voice for racial equality, using his platform to push for greater representation and opportunity for all. His legacy will live on — not only in the achievements and memories he leaves behind but in the countless young people he inspired to believe they too belong.
